Payments
I charge $235 for 50 min for individual sessions, $295 for couples and $360 for families. I accept payment with debit or credit cards via Ivy Pay, a HIPAA-compliant app designed to keep your personal information safe and private. I offer sliding scale to clients in low income brackets to broaden the availability of help to those in need.
I am currently only able to do telehealth sessions via zoom or phone sessions with clients who are located in California or Nevada.
I do not currently participate in any insurance plans. However, many clients on PPO plans have some coverage for out-of-network services. Typically there is a deductible you must meet, and then you can receive reimbursement for some percentage of the “allowable” cost of therapy (often 50-60% of whatever they say therapy “should” cost – this number rarely corresponds to what professionals typically charge, for some reason). This is often a way to make therapy more affordable, though it typically does not cover the full cost.
I can provide you with a superbill to present to your insurance company for out-of-network services. However, I require payment in full at the time of your sessions with me. You are responsible for understanding your plan’s coverage and reimbursement policies (so please call your insurance ahead of time). A superbill does require a billable diagnosis, assigned to an individual insured person. This means that for the purpose of couple or family therapy, one person must be designated as the “patient/client.” I am glad to talk with you about the pros and cons of receiving a mental health diagnosis.
Therapy
Results of therapy are not guaranteed. Exploring issues in therapy may sometimes make problems feel worse rather than better for a period of time. This is a normal part of even successful therapy, and I hope you’ll let me know if this happens so we can talk about how to stay safe and manage the feelings and issues that therapy brings up.
